The Z28 engine was assembled during the months of July, August and September of 2008.

The camshaft has been broken in with new solid lifters.
We used 20W 50 Valvoline racing oil that has zinc additive,
and we added the old GM zinc additive supplement.





Below is an itemized list of what we have done...


This is an original block and has not been decked or re-stamped. This is a 1969 Z28 early block, casting number 3932386. The casting date is October 5th 1968, assembly date is October 7th 1968 and the Vin number is 19N523516.

We have gone to great lengths to make this engine authentic as possible and to acquire the correct date coded components.



1) .030 bored and line honed

2) Block has been hot tanked and magnafluxed

3) Rotating short block has been balanced

4) New JE Forged 11.1 Pistons with total seal piston rings

5) NOS GM Pink Rods

6) Original Z28, 1178 Crank standard with new rod and main bearings

7) Heads dated Sept. 21 1968, with new valves, springs, guides and seats

8) New GM rocker arms and Crane HD pushrods

9) New Crane blueprint cam and Crane solid lifters

10) Complete set of new GM double circle head bolts

11) New Melling oil pump and original GM screen (tack welded)

12) Set of NOS R43 Green Ring Spark Plugs

13) Mint October 68 dated timing cover

14) Original 3 blade harmonic balancer, restored

15) Restored Water Pump casting #3953692, dated Oct. 5th 1968

16) Beautifully restored intake manifold, 3932472 with original carb studs and new front expansion plug (no imprint)

17) Restored Holley Carburetor 3923289 (4053A) DZ dated 8 9 2 with correct 5583 and 4519 fuel bowls. Plus all new choke assembly.

18) Very nice 7 blade fan with new GM fan clutch

19) Restored re-stamped Alternator 1100837 dated 8 H 2. Alternator has new stator and rotor. Essential a brand new Alternator with correct fan and GM pulley, cadium plated.

20) Restored Starter 1108367, dated 8 J 24

21) New GM Flywheel with a mint 3858403 Bellhousing, plus a complete Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch Set up.

22) Original non-dripper valve covers

23) Completely restored Smog system (Bill Hodel) with original white fan and 3932458 Pulley. Also with correct 29295 Diverter Valve, all show quality. Dated Smog Pump 274 81S

24) New reproduction Packard wires dated 3-Q-68

25) NOS Oil Pan

26) Complete GM NOS shim head gaskets and intake manifold gaskets.

27) Complete engine show quality painted with Por-15 Chevy engine orange

28) Original Mint GM Water Pump pulley 3932456
and Original GM Crank pulley 3956668

29) Original Very nice Exhaust Manifolds.
RH 3946826, dated G 18 8. LH 3942527, dated H 18 8

30) New 40987 fuel pump with AC logo, like original

31) Refurbished 293 Delco coil

32) New NOS distributor housing, that has been stamped 1111480,
date code 8 G 19 with correct 532W cam

33) NOS Delco Remy Points condenser, cap and rotor

34) All original head marking bolts used

35) New GM Motor Mounts are also included!!
